Le Knit - Gabi Blouse - Paper

The Gabi blouse with puff sleeves goes with most things! It's easy to knit because everything is knitted in one piece and you don't have to sew anything together. Gabi is knitted from the top down and the puff sleeves aren't big and wide – they just have a delicate little puff!

Guiding pins

Circular needles size 3 and 4 (40 and 80 cm).

Double pointed needles size 3 for the sleeve edges.

Knitting strength

21 mx approx. 29 rows stockinette stitch = 10 x 10 cm on needle size 4.

Construction

First, the upper part of the back is knitted from the slanted shoulders and a short distance down the back piece. Then, stitches are knitted up for the front piece along the shoulder stitches of the back piece. Each side of the upper part of the front piece is knitted separately. The slanted shoulders of the front piece are first formed with a circular needle. Then, stitches are knitted up for the top of the puff sleeve and sleeves, the front piece and back piece are knitted together to the end of the armhole. From here, the body and sleeves are finished separately. Finally, stitches are knitted up for the neckline along the neckline. I have used cross cast-on (i.e. regular cast-on) for all cast-ons. All stitches are cast off in knit and purl (i.e. knit stitches are knit and purl stitches are purl, before they are cast off).

Size selection

The Gabi blouse is intended to have a range of movement of 6-14 cm depending on how loose you want it. Here it is shown with a range of movement of 8 cm. The length is measured at the center back, including the neckline.
