Maggie Cardigan is worked from the top down. First, the top part of the back piece is worked with increases. Then the shoulders are worked from the open stitches at the top of the back piece. Stitches are picked up along the shoulders, and the rest of the yoke and body are worked back and forth on the circular needle. The sleeves are worked in the round on double pointed needles or with the Magic Loop technique. Finally, button bands are worked along the front edges and along the neckline.

Knit a swatch to find the needle size that gives you the right gauge. Wash the swatch before measuring the gauge.

Size guide

Maggie Cardigan should have a positive ease of movement of approximately 5 cm. The sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a bust measurement, measured on your own body, of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The measurements of the finished cardigan are stated on the front of the pattern. Please note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is adhered to. Measure yourself before you start knitting to assess which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit size S. A cardigan in size S has an upper width of 96 cm and in the aforementioned example will provide a range of movement (positive ease) of 6 cm.
