Maggie Vest is knitted from the top down. First, the back piece is knitted with increases. Then, shoulder stitches are picked up at the top of the back piece, and the shoulders are knitted back and forth with decreases and increases. Below the armhole, the shoulders and back piece are gathered to form the body, which is knitted back and forth on the circular needle. A rib edge is knitted along the sleeve opening. Finally, button bands are knitted along the front edges and along the neckline.

Knit a swatch to find the needle size that gives you the right gauge. Wash the swatch before measuring the gauge.

Size guide

Maggie Vest should have a positive ease of movement of approximately 5 cm. The sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a bust measurement, measured on your own body, of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The measurements of the finished vest are stated on the front of the pattern. Please note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is adhered to. Measure yourself before you start knitting to assess which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit size S. A vest in size S has an upper width of 96 cm and in the aforementioned example will provide a range of movement (positive ease) of 6 cm.
