The Storm Sweater Man is knitted from the top down in a textured knit. First, the back piece is knitted, which is shaped with shortened needles (reversible needles) to create a shoulder slope. Then, stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are gathered at the front to form the front piece. The front and back piece are gathered under the armhole to form the body, which is knitted straight down. The sleeves are knitted in the round on double pointed needles or with the Magic Loop technique. A rib edge is knitted at the neck, which is folded and knitted down. The Storm Sweater Man is knitted in a textured knit that consists of four different pattern segments.

Knit a test piece before you start knitting to measure the knitting tension – please note that the knitting tension in both height and width must be correct to achieve the measurements stated on the front. You can knit a test piece according to the diagram in the pattern.

Size guide

Storm Sweater Man should have a positive ease of movement of approximately 10-15 cm in the smallest sizes, but gradually less in the larger sizes. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement, measured on your own body, of 86-91 (91-96) 96-101 (101-107) 107-113 (113-119) 119-124 (124-132) 132-144 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are stated on the front of the pattern. Please note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is adhered to. Measure yourself before you start knitting, to assess which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 99 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit size. M. A sweater in size M has an upper width of 112 cm, and in the aforementioned example will provide a range of movement (positive ease) of 13 cm.
