Key Cardigan Junior - Paper

The Key Cardigan Junior is knitted top down with raglan increases. The neckline is formed using short rows (reversible rows). The yoke and body are knitted back and forth on a circular needle, and the sleeves are knitted in the round. Finally, button bands are knitted along the front edges and along the neckline. The cardigan is knitted in a two-tone stripe pattern.

Size guide

Key Cardigan Junior should have a positive ease of approx. 25 cm in relation to the bust measurement. Sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 years correspond to a bust measurement of 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 cm. The measurements of the finished cardigan are stated on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is observed). If the recipient, for example, measures 59 cm around the bust, you should knit size 5-6 years. A cardigan in size 5-6 years has an upper width of 84 cm and in the above example will give a positive ease of 25 cm. If the measured bust size deviates from the age guide, you should be aware of adjusting the lengths to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
