The recipe has been prepared in collaboration with the Red Cross. For each sale, DKK 20 is donated to the Red Cross.

Cross Sweater Junior is knitted from the top down. On the yoke and along the edges of the sleeves and at the bottom of the body, knit a cross. First, the upper part of the back is knitted back and forth, then the shoulders are knitted separately back and forth on circular needle. These are gathered at the front to form the front piece. Front piece and back are then gathered to form the body, which is knitted in the round on circular needle. The sleeves are knitted from gathered sts along the sleeve opening. The turned-over neckline of the neck is finally knitted in stripes from gathered stitches.

Size guide

Cross Sweater Junior should have a movement room (positive ease) of approx. 25 cm in relation to the chest measurement. The sizes 1-2 (2-3) 3-4 (4-5) 5-6 (6-7) 7-8 (8-9) 9-10 (10-11) 11-12 (12-14) years correspond to a chest measurement of approximately 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (75) 78 (82) cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are indicated on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knitting strength is observed). If you/the recipient, for example, measures 62 cm around the chest, you should knit a size 6-7 years. A sweater in size 6-7 year olds have an excess width of 88 cm and in the mentioned example will provide a room for movement (positive ease) of 26 cm. If the measured chest measurement deviates from the age guide, you should be aware of adapting the lengths to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is lower/higher than the average.
