Festival Dress - Paper

Festival Dress is knitted from the top down. The neckline is folded and knitted down, and shortened rows (reversible rows) are knitted to shape the neckline, where increases are then knitted evenly on the round yoke. The stripes are knitted with a technique that creates bubbles.

Size guide

Festival Dress should have a positive ease of approx. 10 cm in relation to the bust measurement. The sizes 6-9 months (9-12 months) 1-2 years (2-3 years) 3-4 years (4-5 years) 5-6 years (6-7 years) 7-8 years (8-9 years) 9-10 years (10-12 years) correspond to a bust measurement of approx. 47 (49) 53 (54) 56 (57) 59 (62) 64 (68) 72 (77) cm. The measurements of the finished dress are stated on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is observed). If the recipient e.g. measures 59 cm around the bust, you should knit size 5-6 years. A dress in size 5-6 years has a chest width of 69 cm and in the above example will give a range of movement (positive ease) of 10 cm. If the measured bust measurement deviates from the age guide, you should be aware of adapting the lengths to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
