The French Market Bag is knitted from the bottom up. The bottom is flat and knitted on double pointed needles, while the sides of the bag are knitted in lace pattern on circular needles. The bag is finished at the top with an i-cord edge. The lining is sewn to have the same construction as the bag, and is assembled into the finished knitted bag. Finally, heart leather straps are assembled.

The pattern also includes instructions for sewing the lining.
