April Cardigan has a V-neck and is knitted from the top down. The yoke is constructed so that shoulder increases are first worked on the RS and WS, then sleeve increases are worked and finally a piece with raglan increases is worked. At the same time, increases are worked along the front edges, so that the V-neck is formed. The sleeves are knitted in the round on double pointed needles or with the Magic Loop technique. Finally, sts are picked up along the front edges, in the shoulders and in the neck, and a button band is worked in rib. Knit a swatch to find the needle size that gives you the right knitting tension.

Size guide

April Cardigan should have a positive ease of movement of approx. 6-8 cm in relation to your chest measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a chest measurement, measured on your own body, of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm. The measurements of the finished cardigan are stated on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is adhered to). Measure yourself before you start knitting, to consider which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around the chest (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit size S. A cardigan in size S has an upper width of 97 cm and in the aforementioned example will provide a range of movement (positive ease) of 7 cm.
