The Dagmar jacket is a half-length jacket in semi-patent stitch that is knitted from the top down. The jacket has a roomy fit with "European shoulders" (slanted shoulders at the back), a deep v-neck and patch pockets. The Dagmar jacket is knitted in semi-patent stitch. First, the back piece is knitted back and forth and increases are made for the shoulders and armholes. Then, stitches are knitted up along the shoulders and each front piece is knitted separately with increases for the v-neck and armholes. After the armholes, the parts are gathered on the same needle and the body is knitted back and forth. Stitches are knitted up around the armholes for the sleeves. The sleeves are knitted in the round and shaped by decreasing on the outer sides, which gives visible and decorative decreases. The yoke is knitted up finally and knitted in rib at the same time as it is attached to the garment. The pockets are knitted separately with a slanted pocket opening and sewn to each front piece.
