The sweater is knitted top down in Poppy.
First, cast on stitches for the back piece, which is worked back and forth with reverse knitting needles to create a deeper neckline in the neck. The back piece is worked down to under the sleeves. Then, knit up stitches along each shoulder for the right and left front pieces, which are worked separately with reverse knitting needles and increases for the neckline. The front pieces are knitted together and worked back and forth down to under the sleeves. The front and back pieces are gathered and knitted in the round. Knit up stitches around each armhole for the sleeves, which are worked in the round in stockinette stitch. Finally, knit up stitches for the neckline, which is worked in rib, and folded double towards the wrong side.
KNITTING GAUGE: 18 stitches stocking stitch on needle size 4½ = 10 cm
