The Norwegian Tourist Association
Purchasing patterns from Sandnes requires the purchase of at least four skeins from Sandnes Garn.
Designer Olaug Kleppe has chosen the natural warm grey colour of the wool in combination with the plant colours from the Norwegian hiking landscape that we love so much. It almost becomes a camouflage palette with natural tones that is pleasant to look at. When the Norwegian Tourist Association turned 150, this beautiful collection was commissioned by the weekly magazine Familien, and now it is being launched in its entirety in collaboration with Sandnes Garn. Olaug Kleppe tells how she imagined all those who have walked the marked paths and spent the night in the cabins over the years when she created this series of traditional designs. The subtle T-pattern that is repeated in the design symbolises the T-marked routes, the paths, that lead to the hearth points; the cabins that it is good and safe to come to for a rest, a little warmth and something to eat. Then perhaps the garments will also become such safe warm spaces to wear around, whether they have the colours of a cabin, a spruce forest or a snow-covered expanse. They all bear their own cabin name.
