Melange Sweater Baby - Paper
Melange Sweater Baby is knitted from the top down. First, the back piece is knitted back and forth in stocking stitch, then stitches are picked up to knit the front piece. The back piece and front piece are gathered under the armhole to form the body piece, which is knitted in the round on circular needles. Stitches are picked up to knit the sleeves, and finally stitches are picked up to knit a folded rib edge at the neck. The sweater does not require assembly. Melange Sweater Baby is knitted in two strands of thin wool yarn in contrasting colors to achieve a melange effect.

Melange Sweater Baby should have a positive ease of approx. 17 cm in relation to the bust measurement. Sizes 3-6 (6-9) 9-12 (12-18) months correspond to a bust measurement of approx. 45 (47) 49 (51) cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are stated on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is adhered to). For example, if the recipient measures 47 cm around the bust, you should knit size 6-9 months. A sweater in size 6-9 months has an upper width of 64 cm and in the above example will give a positive ease of 17 cm. If the measured bust measurement deviates from the age guide, you should be aware of adapting the lengths to the person you are knitting for. The same applies if the child is shorter/taller than average.
