Hilma V-neck sweater is a stockinette-knit, short sweater in a lovely fluffy blend of Finull and Plum. The sweater has a pretty, shape-knit shape and looks like it has set-in sleeves, but the entire shoulder construction is knitted in one piece – ala an advanced raglan increase. The rib on the body, sleeves and neckline are framed by a garter stitch at the beginning and end. The garter stitch is also repeated on the top of the shoulder as a decorative element that emphasizes the shape. The sweater is knitted top down. First, the back piece is knitted with reverse knitting needles to form sloping shoulders. Then, sts are picked up along the shoulders and the front pieces are knitted in the same way. Then, the front pieces and back piece are placed on the same needle while knitting up stitches for the sleeve tops along each side of the piece. You continue over all the stitches while first increasing stitches for the sleeves, and then for both the body and sleeves. At the same time, you also increase for the V-neck. When the increases are complete, divide the piece and continue working the sleeves and body in the round separately, finishing with rib. Finally, pick up stitches along the entire neckline, and work the neckline in rib with decreases mid front.
