Plain Yoke Sweater is a beginner-friendly sweater with a round yoke. It is knitted from one strand of airy bouclé yarn and one strand of thin wool. If you are a complete beginner, you can optionally loop the turning needles at the neck, so that you only knit in the round. Then follow the pattern for the beginner version, which is knitted exclusively with straight stitches. The Detailed Edition has turning needles at the neck that are knitted along the neckline, but apart from that the versions are completely identical.

Construction, detailed edition (as in the picture)

The Plain Yoke Sweater is knitted from the top down with a raised neck using German short rows (GSR). When knitting the reverse rows, you knit back and forth in stockinette stitch (knit on the right side, purl on the wrong side). Apart from the reverse rows, the sweater is knitted exclusively in knit stitches. The round yoke is formed by increasing.

Construction, debutant edition

The Plain Yoke Sweater is knitted from the top down. Everything is knitted in the round in stocking stitch, so you only knit stitches. The round yoke is formed with increases. The only difference compared to the “Detailed edition” is that the “Debutant edition” has the same neckline front and back.

Size selection

The Plain Yoke Sweater is intended to have a range of motion of approximately 10-18 cm depending on how loose you want it to be. It is shown here with a range of motion (positive ease) of 10 cm. The sweater is therefore shown on a model with a waist that is 10 cm smaller than the sweater's waist. Find your personal waist by measuring around your chest (or the largest measurement of your upper body). Then look at the measurements first in the pattern (this is the finished measurements of the sweater). The range of motion (positive ease) is the difference between your personal measurement and the sweater's measurement.

For example, if your waist is 94 cm, a size M will give you a range of motion of 10 cm (104 cm – 94 cm = 10 cm).
