Charlie Blouse is knitted in knit and purl stitches only. Although it resembles English rib, the pattern is much easier to knit. The increases and decreases create nice, exciting lines, as English rib can also do. Charlie is knitted in two strands of thin mohair, which makes it light and airy despite the structured pattern.

Knitting strength

25 mx approx. 32 rows pattern with 2 strands of yarn = 10 x 10 cm on needles no. 4 after washing.

Construction

The sweater has a European shoulder. This means that you start at the top of the back piece with the neck stitches, and increase to the shoulder on each side on each row. Then you knit straight down to under the arms, let the back piece stitches rest and knit first the left and then the right part of the front piece to under the neckline. From here, knit the left and right parts of the front piece together at the same time to under the arms. Now knit in the round over both the back piece and the front piece stitches until the sweater has the desired length. Then knit up the stitches for the sleeve along the opening on the body. Knit the sleeve top using reverse needles. From here, knit the sleeve in the round with decreases on the underside of the sleeve. Finally, knit up the stitches for the neckline.

Size selection

Charlie Blouse is designed with a range of motion of 25-30 cm. It is shown here with a range of motion of 30 cm (brown) and 38 cm (light gray), but will work just as well with a positive ease of only approx. 15-20 cm.

The length is measured at the center back (excluding the neckline).
