The Novice Slipover Man is worked top down in stockinette stitch. First the back piece is worked, and then stitches are picked up in the cast-on edge of the back piece to form the shoulders. The shoulders are gathered at the front to form the front piece. The back piece and front piece are gathered under the armhole to form the body, which is worked in the round on circular needles. Finally, rib edges are worked along the neckline and armholes. There are help videos for all steps in the pattern here.

Size guide

Novice Slipover You should have a positive ease of movement of approx. 10 cm in relation to your bust measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a bust measurement of 86-91 (91-96) 96-101 (101-107) 107-113 (113-119) 119-124 (124-132) 132-144 cm. The measurements of the finished vest are stated on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting to assess which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 101 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit size L. A vest in size L has an upper width of 111 cm and in the aforementioned example will provide a range of movement (positive ease) of 10 cm.
