The sweater is knitted top down with a pattern according to the diagram in Double Sunday and Tynn Silk Mohair.

First, cast on stitches for the back piece, which is worked back and forth with reverse needles to form slanted shoulders. Then work back and forth to under the sleeves. Then knit stitches for the front pieces, where you decrease and increase stitches for the neckline. Knit the front pieces together and work back and forth to under the sleeves. Then gather the front and back pieces and knit in the round to the full length. Before ribbing, adjust the number of stitches to get a nice transition from diagram to rib. Pick up stitches for the sleeves. Knit the sleeves in the round with pattern according to diagram. Decrease stitches evenly and finish the sleeve with rib. Knit the neckline to finish.
