Barbara Balaclava - Paper
The Barbara Balaclava is worked top down in stocking stitch. First, a square is worked to match the top of the head. Then, stitches are picked up on each side of this square and shortened rows (reversed rows) are worked to form a rounding on the top of the head. The balaclava is then worked straight down, finally gathering under the chin. The neck is worked in the round in stocking stitch, before finishing with a rib edge. Finally, a rib edge is worked in the face opening.
