Scarlet Sweater - Paper
This recipe is in Norwegian.
Scarlet Sweater is knitted from the top down with a line of raised stitches along the front, back and each side of the body and along the inside of the sleeves. First, the top of the back piece is knitted back and forth, where the slope of the shoulders is formed with reverse needles. Then an i-cord is knitted along the cast-on edge of the back piece, and in this i-cord, stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are knitted separately back and forth on circular needles. The shoulder pieces are gathered at the front to form the front piece. Then the front and back pieces are gathered to form the body, which is knitted in the round on circular needles. The sleeves are knitted from the open sts along the sleeve opening. Finally, the neck rib is knitted from the open sts.
Size guide
Scarlet Sweater should have a positive ease of movement of approx. 25 cm in the smallest sizes, but gradually less in the larger sizes. The sizes XXS (XS) S (M) L (XL) 2XL (3XL) 4XL (5XL) correspond to a bust measurement, measured on your own body, of 75-80 (80-85) 85-90 (90-95) 95-100 (100-110) 110-120 (120-130) 130-140 (140-150) cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are stated on the front of the pattern. Please note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is adhered to. Measure yourself before you start knitting, to assess which size will fit you best. For example, if you measure 90 cm around the bust (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit size. S. A sweater in size S has an upper width of 115 cm and in the above example will provide a range of movement (positive ease) of 25 cm.
