The Marseille Sweater Young is knitted from the top down. First, the top of the back piece is knitted back and forth, and the shoulder slope is shaped with circular needles (shortened needles) for a good fit. Then the shoulders are knitted in the same way with circular needles separately, back and forth on circular needles. The shoulders are gathered at the front to form the front piece. The front and back piece are then gathered to form the body, which is knitted in the round on circular needles. The sleeves are knitted from open stitches along the sleeve opening. The sleeves are knitted in the round on circular needles and double pointed needles or with the Magic Loop technique. The ribbed edge of the neck is finally knitted from open stitches, and it is double-folded and knitted down to the end. The Marseille Sweater Young is knitted with stripes, the placement of which is indicated in the pattern.
