Yarn

The pattern is suitable for both Kos and Merino wool. Instead of Merino wool, Alpaca wool can be used.

Sandnes Garn Kos: (1) 2* skeins yellow brown 2533 (approx. (40) 55 grams).

Sandnes Garn Merino Wool: (2) 2 skeins golden brown 2564 (approx. (65) 80 grams).

*1 ball of yarn, if you knit the back piece a little shorter than the front piece.

Guiding pins

Blanket: Circular needle (30-40 cm cm) size 5 mm.

Merino wool: Circular needles (30-40 cm) size 4.

Knitting strength

Knit: 17 sts rib (1 K, 1 P) = 10 cm in width on needle size 5 mm.

Merino wool: 22 sts rib (1 knit, 1 purl) = 10 cm in width on needle size 4.

In Kos, the rib does not contract as much, but in more elastic yarns such as Merino wool, the knitting tension is measured when the rib is "slightly stretched."
