Moby Sweater Man - Paper
Moby Sweater Man is knitted from the top down with textured and cable knit. First, the back piece is knitted, which is shaped with shortened needles (reversible needles) to create a shoulder slope. Then, stitches are picked up for the shoulders, which are gathered at the front to form the front piece. The front and back piece are gathered under the armhole to form the body, which is knitted straight down. The sleeves are knitted in the round on double pointed needles or with the Magic Loop technique. A rib edge is knitted at the neck, which is folded and knitted down.
Knit a swatch to assess what needle size you should use to achieve the correct gauge – note that this may vary from yarn to yarn. Be careful when washing the swatch, as textured knits can expand when washed.
Size guide
Moby Sweater Man should have a range of movement (positive ease) of approx. 10-15 cm in relation to your chest measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL correspond to a chest measurement, measured on your own body, of 86-91 (91-96) 96-101 (101-107) 107-113 (113-119) 119-124 (124-132) 132-144 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are stated on the front of the pattern. Measure yourself before you start knitting, to consider which size will fit best. If you, for example, measure 103 cm around the chest (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit size L. A sweater in size L has an upper width of 118 cm and in the aforementioned example will provide a range of movement (positive ease) of 15 cm.
