Le Knit - Boyfriend Sweater - Paper
The Boyfriend sweater has a roomy fit. It is knitted from the top down, and is constructed with a combination of saddle shoulders and raglan - which gives the typical boyfriend look. The sweater is knitted on needle 4, so it is not too warm or heavy, but can be a good basic sweater that goes with most things. I have knitted it in two variations. The light one, shown here in size S, is in thin wool and a thin alpaca thread. The blue-gray one, shown here in size M, is in an even thinner wool and a thread of mohair. If you don't care about knitting with two threads, you can of course knit the Boyfriend sweater with just one thread of yarn, as long as the knitting tension matches the pattern.

Construction
Everything is knitted with one thread of each quality. The sweater is knitted in one piece, top down. First, the neck/shoulders are knitted with increases for saddle shoulders and neckline. When the neckline of the back piece and later the front piece is formed, it is finished in the round. After the shoulder increases, the work is increased for raglan, the work is divided for armholes, and the body and sleeves are finished separately. The neckline is knitted last. The stated length is measured mid back (excl. neckline).
Size selection
The fit is oversized and the sweater is intended to have a positive ease of 30-40 cm. The light sweater is shown here with a positive ease of 35 cm, and the gray-blue sweater is shown with a positive ease of 40 cm.
