The sweater is knitted back and forth in English rib, in double thread on thick needles. It is short and wide in the model, and completely straight. You cast on the front piece and cast off for the neck, then cast on the stitches again in the neck and knit down. This way there is no seam over the shoulders. The sides are assembled together, up to the armhole, where you pick up stitches for the sleeves, which are knitted to the right length.
Chunky patent sweaters should be hand-spun and flat-blocked to the desired shape before wearing. The stitches will "settle" and the sweater will hold its desired shape. If you want a more compact sweater that does not need to be blocked, it is recommended to go up 1-2 sizes.
