The Louisiana Sweater is knitted from the top down with raglan increases on the yoke. The neckline, which is knitted in rib, is folded and knitted down. The Louisiana Sweater has a short, feminine cut. The sleeves are finished with a tight rib. You can use the Italian bind-off technique along the rib edges on the sleeves and body.

Knit a swatch to find the needle size that gives the right knitting tension before you start knitting the sweater.

Size guide

The Louisiana Sweater should have a positive ease of movement of approx. 15 cm in relation to your chest measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL correspond to a chest measurement, measured on your own body, of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 cm. The measurements of the finished sweater are stated on the front of the pattern (note that these measurements only apply if the knitting tension is adhered to). Measure yourself before you start knitting, to assess which size will fit you best. If you measure 90 cm around the chest (or the widest part of your upper body), you should knit size S. A sweater in size S has an upper width of 104 cm and in the above example will give a positive ease of movement of 14 cm.
